WPT Global is the online arm of the World Poker Tour, the live-poker brand that has run since 2002. The room launched in 2022, operated by Everstronglink Limited, and grew quickly by leaning on the WPT name and offering satellites into its live events. Its entire proposition is recreational-first: keep the games soft and the rake low, and let the brand bring the players.

It holds a Costa Rica licence and its software is certified by Gaming Labs International. That is a genuine brand and a real integrity effort, but — as we cover in the licensing section — a Costa Rica licence is a lower-tier framework than the MGA or UKGC. WPT Global runs its own network. The result is one of the softest environments in online poker at low stakes, with among the highest win rates for competent players. Rake is one of WPT Global's biggest strengths. Cash games use a 4% base rake with no-flop-no-drop — among the lowest in poker — with caps that scale by stake and table size (fast-fold Pace is 5%). On raw rake, few rooms are cheaper.

Rakeback is more nuanced. There is no flat deal for everyone; the Table Starter programme returns up to 40% for NLHE and 30% for PLO, but the FairGame algorithm deliberately withholds rakeback from players it judges skilled, redirecting it to recreational promotions. So a casual player gets excellent value, while a strong regular is curtailed — by design. But its licence is from Costa Rica, a lower-tier jurisdiction that does not provide the oversight, fund-protection rules or dispute resolution of a tier-one regulator like the MGA or UKGC. If something goes seriously wrong, your recourse is weaker than at a regulated room.

WPT Global is available in more than 85 countries, but not everywhere — always confirm it is available and permitted where you live. As with any lower-tier-licensed room, the trade for the soft games and low rake is a weaker regulatory safety net.
